2008 L.A. Boat Show to Rally Boaters to Help Passage of H.R. 2550 Because of a ruling by the Ninth Circuit Court
of Appeals last year, the Environmental Protection Agency has been
ordered to charge all recreational boaters with a new yearly "water
discharge" permit fee, effective possibly as early as September
2008. If this ruling is not reversed, permits for boats nationwide
could potentially cost owners up to hundreds of dollars annually. And,
if you use your boat in more than one state, a separate permit would
be needed for each state you boat in! - 30 - ________________________________________________________________________________________________
